On January 7th and 8th the Stuart Auditorium was the site of the 2025 Bronco Quiz Bowl Invite.
Students gathered from several area towns to compete. Tuesday kicked off with ten middle school teams. Teams competing included
Elgin 1, Elgin 2, O’Neill Blue, O’Neill White, Rock County, Stuart, St. John-Battle Creek, St. Joseph-Atkinson, Summerland, and West Holt. With 3 rooms of competition being expertly ran by the Stuart High School team. Twelve rounds of questions were presented. The win/loss records and points were totaled. Medals were awarded awarded for the top 3 teams. Third place went to Rock County, second place to Summerland, and first to Stuart.
Wednesday brought nine high school teams to town along with some guest readers. Teams for the high school division included
Boyd County, Chambers, O’Neill Blue, O’Neill White, Rock County Blue, Rock County White, Stuart Maroon, Stuart White, and West Holt. The Stuart high school team again assisted with running the equipment and keeping score. When the win/loss record was finalized there was a 3 way tie. Looking at the head to head matches determined that 3rd place went to the O’Neill Blue, 2nd to Rock County Blue, and 1st to Stuart White.
A special thanks goes out the the guest readers for Wednesday. Thank you Gary Hostert, Katilynn Kaup, and Andrew Yemma. Also to Cory Gubbels for assisting with equipment and scoring. And a huge thanks to all 15 of the Stuart High School team members who helped everything run smoothly on both days.
Stuart Junior high will travel to O’Neill on January 22nd for an invite. The high school will have their next competition on February 26th in Neligh at ESU 8.
